Dr BR. Ambedkar Jayanthi celebration

Dr. BR Ambedkar the famous political, social reformer and also known as the father of Indian constitution, to pay tribute for his hard work Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanthi was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm on 13th April 2023 in the ITI premises. Dr.Eraiah Hampapura the HOD and assistant professor of Kannada department St. Joseph’s University was invited as a chief guestfor the program.

The program started with the lighting of the lamp. Mr. Bharath. C welcomed the gathering. Chief Guest delivered the speech and explained about Dr.Ambedkar life, how he was discriminated by the people, many hurdles he faced, challenges he had undergone in framing the constitution.Dr Ambedkar was instrumental in uplifting the lives of Dalits and untouchables. Rev.Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, the Director of Loyola ITI, delivered the key note address and motivated the students to follow the values of Dr.Ambedkar.Students performed themesbased onsocial issues, discrimination in the form of Mime and dancesdepicting the life of Ambedkar and his fight against social evils and discrimination in the society.

The celebration reminded us of the ongoing struggle for human rights and encourages us to renew our commitment to create more justice in the society. The program ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Bharath. S.
