ELCIA VISIT

On May 21, 2024, 25 trainees along with Mr. John Bosco from Loyola ITI Bangalore visited the ELCIA (Electronics City Industrial Association) cluster. During their visit, they were introduced to various industrial culture and processes. They learned about the manufacturing processes of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), different testing methods and SMD (Surface-Mount Device) soldering techniques. The trainees also gained the knowledge of rework processes, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) stations, and manufacturing of prototype modules.

The trainees were shown the techniques in metalworking, such as metal laser cutting and both TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding. They also learned about the use of vibration testing instruments and methods. This visit provided the trainees an opportunity to understand the modern manufacturing technologies.
