Loyola ITI, Bangalore, in collaboration with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, organized a Free Eye Screening and Vision Awareness Camp on 10th October 2025. The main objective of the program was to promote eye health and facilitate the early detection of vision-related issues among students and staff. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Mounika, Ophthalmologist from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, who also served as the chief guest for the event. She conducted an insightful awareness session, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good vision. Her talk addressed common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, and cataracts, and offered practical tips on eye care and the role of a balanced diet rich in essential vitamins like A, C, and E in maintaining healthy eyesight. Fr. Denzil Lobo, Director of Loyola ITI, welcomed the guests and highlighted the crucial role of regular eye check-ups, especially for students pursuing skill-based and technical education, where clear vision is essential for effective learning and performance. Following the awareness session, a comprehensive eye screening was conducted by the expert team from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital. A total of 120 students and staff members underwent vision testing. Based on the findings participants were prescribed corrective spectacles a few were referred for further evaluation and treatment.
